"High Speed" Twin-Sheet - The fastet and "largest" Twin-sheet foil machine in the world

When company Hombach modified and installed their first "closed
chamber" Twin-Sheet machine 20 years ago, everything was done in closed
connection to company Geiss. This partnership resulted during the
following 20 years in:
- The first closed-chamber Twin-Sheet machine with a size of 2000mm x
2000mm.
- The first closed-chamber Twin-Sheet machine mit automatic
sheet loader.

- The first closed-chamber Twin-Sheet maschine with a maximum size of 3000mm x 2500mm x 900mm.

In 2010 Hombach and Geiss continued this
story full of success with the actual fastest closed chamber Twin-Sheet
foil-machine in the world. With a maximum sheet size of 1600mm x 1100mm it set up a new record for Twin-Sheet foil machines. The foil thickness the T9 could work with starts at 0,3mm up to 2,5mm.

The new Geiss T9 combines the first time ever a lot of existing technologies in one machine, e.g.
- servo-motor knee lever drives with up to 60 tons pressure
- flash-heaters
- accelerated drives for all axes
- cutting within the mould / forming station
- support of the foils during the heating "closed chamber"

Today these unique feature combinations allow Hombach to manufacture Twin-Sheet parts (but of course also single sheet are possible), made out of two times 0,4mm material in under 30 seconds in a size up to 1600mm x 1100mm.
This gives Hombach tremendous possibilities to manufacture "High-Speed" Twin-Sheet parts for a wide variety of branches.

The suppling of the Automotive industry with foam air-ducts is just one on those interessting possibilities.

Furthermore with its new investment Hombach will manufacture leight-weight structures (RCP) together with its partner Genima in the future that could find use in all branches of the industry. The high flexibility of possible materials, even the more difficult ones like PC, PEEK, etc., makes it suitable for the aircraft, train, and ship industry.

Hombach is "Supplier of the year" for the 6th time

Within the last 8 years Hombach Themoforming progressed from being just a thermoformed part supplier to a system supplier.

The first steps were done with training of employee and the establisment of ESD assembly areas. Thereby it is possible to offer our customers complete assemblies incl. testings and logistics. Furthermore bigger investments were done in the latest CAD systems together with new employees for design and development.

Today Hombach is able to offer his customers the whole supply chain starting with product design, development, engineering, prototyping and of course series production. Furthermore Hombach can offer assembly of electronic and mechanical components as well as logistic concepts.

The longterm partnership mit Siemens healthcare and the new possibilities at Hombach convinced Siemens with placing a large development and production order for MRI systems. Hombach got the order to develop a complete cover system for an MRI and to supply Siemens with all necessary components.

Just 6 months after starting the development Hombach developped and supplied not only 25 large covers with sizes up to 2200mm x 2200mm but also in total over 500 sub-components. The most important thing was the choice of the highest quality and also most economic production technologies. With Hombach being responsible as system supplier we didn't use only own production technologies but the best suitable together with are large network of partners.

We are very proud for getting the award "Supplier of the year" of Siemens Healthcare MR as tribute for our performance.

After being rewarded already 5 times as "Supplier of the year" by Siemens Healthcare CT, this is proof that our own high quality demands together with our unique manufacturing technologies and our engagement towards our customers pays off.

ERNST HOMBACH GmbH & Co. KG - We perFORM different

Es gibt viele Gelegenheiten für ein Unternehmen sich in Form einer Hausmesse zu präsentieren. Für die Firma ERNST HOMBACH GmbH & Co. KG in Uehlfeld gab es vergangenen Donnerstag gleich mehrere Anlässe.
Die 160 geladenen Gäste durften nicht nur mit dem heutigen Inhaber und Geschäftsführer Timo Tobolla das 60jährige Jubiläum des Unternehmens feiern sondern bekamen in diesem Rahmen einen interessanten Einblick in die Entwicklung des Unternehmens - aus einer Lampenfabrikation von 1947 ist heute ein innovatives, international tätiges Unternehmen geworden.
In dem speziell umgestalteten Showroom wurde den Gästen ein facettenreicher Eindruck von dieser Entwicklung geboten. Beginnend bei dem Twin-Sheet-Verfahren, auf das Hombach als technologischer Vorreiter in der Branche auf eine 20jährige Erfahrung zurückblicken kann, bis hin zu Neuheiten und dem erweiterten Leistungsspektrum konnten hier spektakuläre Prototypen bestaunt werden.
Für viel Aufsehen sorgte das erste Auto von KTM - der KTM X-Bow - der an diesem Tag extra auf dem Gelände ausgestellt wurde.
Geleitete Betriebsführungen durch das Unternehmen sowie Fachvorträge von geladenen Referenten veranschaulichten zudem die heutige Aussage des Unternehmens "We perFORM different" und wurden von einer Vielzahl von nationalen und internationalen Gästen besucht. Fragen wie "Was sind funktionale Twin-Sheet-Teile und wie konstruiert man Sie?" und "Welche Alternativen zur Lackierung von Bauteilen gibt es?" wurden in den Fachvorträgen auf anschauliche Weise beantwortet. Zudem wurden thermoplastische Lösungen für das "Transportation"-Segment" vorgestellt und der halogenfreie Flammschutz nach UL94 V-0 erläutert.
Eine Ausstellung von Produkten und Dienstleistungen aus den Bereichen Formen- und Werkzeugbau, Spritzguß- und TSG, Polyurethan-Schaum, individuelle Einfärbemöglichkeit von Kunststoffteilen, Rapid Prototyping, Blech- und Metallbearbeitung und Lackherstellung/Lackierung und Siebdruck, die die einzelnen Netzwerkpartner der ERNST HOMBACH GmbH & Co. KG präsentierten, bot den Gästen die Gelegenheit Ansprechpartner aus der Branche zu treffen und neue Kontakte zu knüpfen.
Ein besonderes Highlight an diesem Tag waren die zwei eigens für die Messe konzipierten Simulations-Monococks in denen die Gäste einen Racing-Contest austragen konnten. Am Ende der Messe wurde der Gewinner mit einem Pokal und einem Gutschein für ein Fahrertraining prämiert.
Die Tombola anlässlich des Jubiläums sorgte anschließend für viel Aufregung und die hochwertigen Preise wurden mit viel Beifall von den Gewinnern in Empfang genommen.
Eine abschließende Rede von Rudolf Tobolla, der an diesem Tag sein 25jähriges Jubiläum als Inhaber und Geschäftsführer feierte, sorgte für einen gelungenen Abschluss der Hausmesse.
